Dancing Mindfulness - Well-being through dance!

I am thrilled to announce our unique 'Dancing into the Present Moment' program, offering dancing mindfulness classes to children and youth in Prince Albert, SK!

About 'Dancing into the Present Moment'

Heather Agnew Ksyniuk was inspired to combine and share her two career passions - Psychology and Dance!

Mindfulness practices bring us into the present moment - the most wonderful moment there is! We are so often lost in thoughts of our past or worries about our future that our lives fly by, largely unnoticed and unappreciated. Mindfulness is all about awareness, attention and appreciation of this moment.

A huge and growing body of research shows that mindfulness of the present moment brings happiness, health and wellbeing. The more we practice and know Mindfulness, the deeper our contentment, sense of wellbeing and happiness can grow. Mindfulness has been used by counsellors and psychologists in recent years to help kids, teens and adults of all ages cope more successfully with a wide variety of stressors and difficulties.

Dancing into the Present Moment is a program that aims to give kids tangible experiences to help connect them with the present moment and understand how to find the peace that comes with mindfulness of the present moment - any time, anywhere! While learning and practice of mindfulness skills within the context of a wonderful dance experience, it is the goal of this program to empower kids to choose happiness for their lives in each and every moment.

What is a Dancing Mindfulness class at Ballet 'n' All That Jazz?

In 'Dancing into the Present Moment' classes, students learn and practice Mindfulness skills that can be used in everyday life, while also engaging in creative dance as a means of introducing, experiencing, and deepening their understanding of Mindfulness.

Creative dance is lead by Miss Heather Ksyniuk, who provides enjoyable, semi-structured creative dance experiences that help to further connect students with the concept and experience of Mindfulness.
